VIVID360 is a custom, multi-brand design system built in Sketch to mimic tokens and a headless design system using shared components in WordPressVIP with strict legal requirements. My team built and maintained the system for 30+ designers at Merck.
We managed the transition from Sketch to Figma with three part-time designers using Airtable to chart our course. We developed learning materials for the 30+ designers that would begin to use Figma.
As the design team lead, I created and improved processes to improve the design system:
Tackled site theming using semantic versioning
Improved dev relationship with changed roles and responsibilities
Improved partner collaboration with brand teams via office hours and more hands-on support
Updated onboarding site documentation
Simplified complex testing of built components for design
Simultaneously, we were exploring the possibility of merging with other design systems at Merck.
